Independent Brand Partner Jen Yost’s life has changed in a multitude of ways since joining Nerium International. Through her Nerium International business she has more flexibility, work-life balance, more confidence and earned a Lexus car bonus! In addition to these positive life changes, Jen credits the relationship she and husband Dave have formed with “Little” Tyler as the best benefit of all. Jen and Dave (also a Nerium Brand Partner) met Tyler through the Nerium Ripple Foundation’s partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA). “I have always loved helping people, so it is amazing to have the opportunity through BBBS and the Nerium Ripple Foundation to mentor and build a relationship with Tyler, our Little,” Jen said. “He is an amazing kid, and we love spending time with him. “Loving, caring, sharing” isn’t just our company philosophy at Nerium International. It’s something we live by and apply in our daily lives through the Nerium Ripple Foundation, which partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS), World Vision, Live Happy and the SUCCESS Foundation. Independent Brand Partner Morgan Ott has certainly taken our mission to heart by leading a Bowl for Kids’ Sake event in Louisville earlier this year, which raised close to $30,000 for BBBS of Kentuckiana. In addition to hosting this successful Bowl for Kids’ Sake event, Morgan has served as a “Big” to 14-year-old “Little” Josy for the past year. “I love hanging out with Josy,” Morgan said. “We go out for ice cream, hike, go to dinner and do so many other fun activities. Josy makes me feel young again, and it is such a blessing to have her in our lives!” “People are hesitant about making the…

Steve was inspired to become a big by a mentor of his own who promised him that becoming a Big would be one of the most rewarding and gratifying experiences of his life. “The experience has been nothing short of amazing,” said Steve. “It has given me more than I ever imagined and provided me with the ability to make a difference in another person’s future. Mentor Helps Little Find Strength, Confidence

By | Ripple Stories | No Comments

Two years ago, I got out of my comfort zone and committed to being a Big Sister. I was matched with an incredible 6-year-old with a beautiful name: MaKayla. As with any 6-year-old, her energy was off the charts! But one of the things she had issues with, and still does to some degree, was self-confidence. She was scared of everything! But she was willing to try almost everything, too! We’ve climbed the wall at the rec center, gone horseback riding, swimming, and so much more. She has definitely won the heart of my family. MaKayla’s biggest accomplishment is that when we met, she was terrified of Teva, my dog. I understood how a wolf-looking (Shepherd Husky) dog can scare people! Now she now likes to call Teva her dog, she pets her, feeds her treats, and always asks if we can see her. MaKayla has grown in her self-confidence and…

BBBS Night at Pizza Ranch

Serving Up Pizza for Big Brothers Big Sisters

By | Ripple Stories | No Comments

In February, my Nerium Team and I partnered with a local restaurant, Pizza Ranch, to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS). They have a Community Outreach program for nonprofit organizations, so we organized a night for BBBS. Twenty percent of the total food tab of patrons who come to eat and support the nonprofit – as well as all tips – are donated. On these nights there is only kitchen and cashier staff there. The nonprofit is responsible for bringing a group of people whose role is to bus tables, greet the customers, and promote the organization. We had a blast doing this, and raised $360 for BBBS with more to come! It so much fun! We scheduled another one in March as well as our bowling event in April. We love being part of this movement to Make People Better!   Phyllis Anderson Lincoln, Nebraska

Nerium Brand Partner Rebecca Massee was matched with 13-year-old Jazlyn in April 2014. Rebecca said she had been considering becoming a Big Sister and was convinced after a Big Brothers Big Sisters representative spoke at a conference the year before.  Jazlyn and Rebecca like to eat out, walk dogs, hike, and swim. Rebecca said that Jazlyn is very athletic. “We have a lot of fun being outside and being active together and we both love to eat out! But mostly it’s nice to visit together and just talk about everyday things,” she said.  Rebecca has high hopes for Jazlyn’s future. “She’s a natural at technology and hopes to be a veterinarian.” Rebecca helps support Jazlyn’s dream of becoming a veterinarian by encouraging her to perform well in school and helping her improve communication and social skills.  Rebecca also supports BBBS by having donations withdrawn from commission checks. Brand Partners can learn more about this process…

Helping a Little Get a Second Chance

By | Ripple Stories | No Comments

I joined Big Brothers Big Sisters in 2014 and met my Little Brother, Seth, in January 2015. This experience has brought me so much joy and it is very rewarding to see Seth begin to turn around since losing both parents a couple years ago. He is a smart boy and he is working so hard and making such progress. Seth and his three siblings have been kept together and were adopted by a very sweet lady named Susan. Seth and I have been meeting every other week ever since. We go to sporting events in Detroit to see the Lions, Tigers, Red Wings and Pistons. He is a big fan. We also work on Cub Scout and school projects together. I gave him a copy of the Success for Teens book for his birthday and he has started to read it. I have made it one of my primary missions in life…
